There are photos of me at five or six —

already half in the air.

I learned to ski at about the same time I learned to walk. My father built me my first little jumps before I could carve a clean turn — not to make me fast, but because I loved to fly.

HOW IT ALL STARTED

THE ATHLETE

From competition to the camera.

Action sports never let go of me, summer or winter. Early on it was clear that for me, sport and nature are above all a piece of freedom — and that pull outdoors has never gotten quieter.

The competitive years are behind me now. What remains is a record I don’t make a fuss about, but don’t hide either: starts at Red Bull Ragnarok, some of the very first freeski events, the Austrian Open in Innsbruck, freeride contests up to the Freeride World Tour — top 10 at the Fieberbrunn qualifier. Plus a few wins at the International Snowkite Open and the Snowkite Masters. Today I ride as a sponsored athlete — for Rossignol, Leki, Restube, Riggler and Flysurfer.

THE WORLD TRIP

Six weeks, once around the world.

One year stands out from all the others. In 2012, Kati Piironen and I won Chiemsee’s “Freaky Talentfrees” challenge for the brand’s 30th birthday — as a team.

The prize was a little absurd: six weeks around the world, board sports only, worth over 70,000 euros. Kiting in Trinidad & Tobago, windsurfing on Naxos, surfing in South Australia, snowboarding in Zürs, and a freeride finale in Ischgl. Honestly, I still draw on that trip today.

ENGINEER & FOUNDER

The mind behind the action.

Alongside the sport, a second life ran the whole time. I financed my engineering degree working as a ski instructor, and after my master’s in industrial engineering in Innsbruck I ended up at Skywalk, developing inflatable load-bearing structures.

At some point I wanted to build my own things. In 2017 came the ShredRack, an inflatable roof rack — born of pure frustration with hauling my gear across Europe. Then BOLSTair, an inflatable training and yoga cushion. And with Après Allstars I bring together partying, lifestyle and skiing.

I don’t put the engineering up front. But I don’t hide it either — that’s where the precision comes from. And the habit of thinking a risk through first, then taking it.

BOTH SIDES OF THE CAMERA

In front of the camera — and just as often behind it.

Because I run the marketing for my own brands, I stand behind the camera almost as often as in front of it. Commercials, image films, ski movies, my own expeditions — I shot and edited much of it myself, with Sony Alpha, Mavic, action cams, Insta360.

You notice it on set. I understand both sides, think along, and often see what’s needed next before anyone even says it.

WHY

Why I actually do this.

It all started for a pretty simple reason: I wanted to capture the best moments outdoors — real action, the best friends, forever. I still genuinely love watching the old reels.

And when a brand comes along for the ride and something truly fits, that’s exactly the win-win that drives me. The hope behind it: that someone catches the spark, the way I once did.

Not least my own kids — the way my own path once began.

WHAT’S DIFFERENT

The look, and the sport to match — from one person.

Most commercial models can hold a pose. But actually riding the sport in-frame? Few can. I can — because for me it isn’t styling, it’s simply my life: decades on snow, water and rock, with a competitive record behind it.

For a production that means, concretely: the finished brand look and the real action from one and the same person — one face across the whole campaign. And because I’ve ridden these disciplines for years, the risk on set stays low. Controlled, not wild.

WHAT I CAN DO

Which sport I ride — and at what level.

Sport isn’t a prop for me. So I’d rather be honest and precise about it — from the disciplines where I’ve raced competitively to the ones where I’m simply solid.
